Biodiverse Anatomies Original Course Intro:
Dear students,
I kindly invite you to the Biodiverse Anatomies course. After an intro to posthumanist thoughts, we will start a research journey through earthly, airy, and watery states and discover the substances, force fields, and living beings that surround and permeate us and/or that we are made of.
We then turn to the current epic representations of biodiverse life: databases. We encounter scientific text-, film-, and internet-sources on the concept of biodiversity, whose complexity increasingly unfolds through different representations and narrations.
You will gain different starting points for your individual research to navigate to the species, substances, force fields, constellations or problem settings that fascinate you most.
Now you can artistically transform your topic with the media of your choice, and create images, posters, videos, objects, installations, performances, animations, sound compositions, texts, lectures or slams, with realistic representations, complex issues, fictional narratives, alternative futures or speculative fabulations, and hybrid forms of these and beyond.
Your research finds and contributions form a joint group composition and at the end of the semester they culminate into a large, collective representation of biodiverse knowledge and artistic transformations designed by you 97 students in winter 23/24.

Liebe Studierende,
ich lade euch herzlich zum Kurs Biodiverse Anatomien ein. Nach einem Intro zu posthumanistischen Denkansätzen starten eine Forschungsreise durch irdische, luftige und wässrige Zustände und entdecken die Substanzen, Kraftfelder und Lebewesen, die uns umgeben und durchdringen oder/und aus denen wir bestehen.
Daraufhin wenden wir uns den aktuellen epischen Darstellungsformen biodiversen Lebens zu: den Datenbanken. Wir besuchen wissenschaftliche Text-, Film- und Internet-Quellen zum Begriff Biodiversität, dessen Komplexität sich durch unterschiedliche Darstellungen und Narrative zunehmend entfaltet.
Ihr gewinnt so verschiedene Startpunkte für eure individuellen Recherchen zu denjenigen Arten, Substanzen, Kraftfeldern, Konstellationen oder Problemlagen, die euch am meisten faszinieren.
Eueren Fund könnt ihr dann mit den Medien eurer Wahl künstlerisch transformieren: so entstehen Bilder, Plakate, Videos, Objekte, Installationen, Performances, Animationen, Klangkompositionen, Texte, Vorträge oder Slams, mit realistischen Darstellungen, komplexen Problemlagen, fiktiven Narrativen, alternativen Zukünften oder spekulativen Fabulationen und Mischformen davon und darüber hinaus.
Eure Recherche-Funde und Beiträge bilden eine gemeinsame Gruppen-Komposition und zum Ende des Semesters ergeben sie eine große, kollektive Repräsentation biodiversen Wissens und künstlerischer Umsetzungen, die von euch 97 Studierenden im Winter 23/24 entworfen wurden.
